Carl leads GYC’s Advice & Investments function, accountable for firm‑wide portfolio risk and return and ensuring consistent, high‑quality advice delivery to clients. He serves on GYC’s internal and external investment committees, helping translate adviser recommendations into portfolio actions for funds GYC is the investment advisor for, and GYC’s suite of client solutions.

A former Southeast Asia hedge‑fund analyst and Republic of Singapore Air Force Weapon Systems/Intelligence Officer, Carl brings a data‑driven discipline to investing. He co‑developed the GYC Risk Matrix™, the firm’s proprietary financial‑stress and market‑health framework that guides asset allocation, rebalancing, and risk‑management protocols across client portfolios.

Day‑to‑day, Carl oversees investment strategy design, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and implementation—including dynamic allocation, options overlays, and FX‑risk frameworks. He co‑authors GYC’s weekly market outlook, providing actionable insights for advisers and clients, and regularly briefs stakeholders on the evidence‑based investing approach that underpins GYC’s advice.

Carl holds an MSc in Applied Finance (Singapore Management University) and a BEng (Nanyang Technological University). He is passionate about investor education and building resilient, pension‑style income portfolios for families.
