Carl is the person ultimately responsible for how GYC invests on behalf of its clients — making sure every portfolio is built on sound principles, managed with discipline, and aligned to what each family is actually trying to achieve.

He brings an unusual combination of experiences to the role: a former hedge-fund analyst covering Southeast Asian markets, and a Republic of Singapore Air Force Weapons Systems and Intelligence Officer. Both demanded clear thinking under pressure — a discipline he's carried into wealth management.

Carl co-developed the GYC Risk Matrix™, a proprietary tool that helps GYC read the health of global markets and adjust client portfolios accordingly. Day to day, he leads GYC's investment committee work, shapes the firm's asset allocation views, and co-writes the weekly market outlook — keeping clients informed and giving a window into how GYC thinks about investing.

He holds a Master's in Applied Finance (SMU) and an engineering degree (NTU), and genuinely enjoys translating complex markets into clear, actionable guidance — especially for families focused on income, stability, and leaving something behind.
