Head of Advice

Holding a Masters of Science in Applied Finance from the Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Carl was an investment analyst at a hedge fund covering the Southeast Asian market. He also served 13 years in the Republic of Singapore Air Force as a Weapon Systems Officer / Intelligence Officer (Air Intelligence) in various roles in air defence and intelligence.

Currently, Carl is in charge of the GYC’s investment portfolios and is responsible for their risk and return outcomes. He sits on the company's external and internal investment committees and oversees investment strategies, asset allocation, and portfolio construction. He is also responsible for the construction of the GYC risk matrix system, a proprietary quantitative financial stress tool which guides the overall allocation of investment portfolios.

Deeply involved in both adviser and client education, he enjoys teaching others on efficient markets, asset class risks, and market pricing to ultimately show how using an Evidence Based investing approach can help one be a better investor and achieve the best available investment outcome.
