Catherine Wong joined GYC Financial Advisory in October 2009 as Deputy CEO (Strategic Development).
Catherine is a well-known veteran in the industry and has worked with some of the largest insurance companies in Singapore. Her experience ranges from finance to distribution responsibilities in the two large insurance companies she has worked with.
In the area of finance, Catherine was responsible for the setting up of product sales, fund pricing, design and content of the fund reports for the launch of the then revolutionary Investment Linked Policies (ILPs) when it was first introduced in Singapore by an international insurance company.
Just prior to joining GYC, she was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) with a major European insurance company responsible for its Singapore operations and distribution channels including its tied agency force and independent financial adviser channel. During her stint with this insurer, she was the key driver in the transformation of the adviser sales force into well-run teams that believes in producing top-quality advisers and businesses.
Prior to being promoted to COO, Catherine was the Chief Distribution Officer and was instrumental in developing strong business partnerships with the Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) in Singapore. This has resulted in her company achieving the highest sales from IFAs in the 2nd quarter of 2009. In addition, she has launched several strategic initiatives to drive the growth of different businesses to meet the company's overall business and profit targets.
In view of her rich industry experience and effective operations management, Catherine is well-placed to be responsible for GYC's Strategic Development in driving the business strategy and future growth of the company.
