It has been a busy year for all of us. It was also an exciting
year for most Singaporeans.
2007 saw the rise of property prices to unprecedented levels and
for many Singaporeans life is good. Rising asset values, healthy
economic data, high employment rate were indeed welcome news in
2007. Behind this rosy backdrop lurked the danger of a toppish
stock market, high oil prices approaching US$100 and the now
infamous subprime crisis that wiped out billions of dollars from
the Banking System. There will always be uncertainties and
volatility in the market place.
As for GYC Financial Advisory, we remain committed to giving
high quality financial advice and delivering results for
customers amidst these uncertainties. GYC constantly redefines
the financial advisory business to stay ahead for investors.
To deliver real results, GYC pays particular attention to how a
clients investment portfolio is constructed and managed. GYC is
the only financial advisory firm in Singapore that publishes its
clients account performance online. We also document the
performance of every clients investment portfolio. Our clients
have now entrusted us with more than S$500m under our advice, as
at July 2007.
We rely on our proprietary asset allocation system and periodic
rebalancing to ensure clients risks are controlled while
maintaining decent returns. Over the last 3 years, 96% of our
clients enjoyed positive returns on their portfolio. In fact,
76% of our clients experienced annual returns of 8% to 40%. We
shared these results with the public through a short series of
advertisements in the local media.
We are happy to announce to you that GYC was the Highest Ranking
Independent Financial Adviser by net profits in Singapore under
the SME500 in 2007 by DP Information Group supported by Ernst &
Young, Spring Singapore, IE Singapore and The Business Times.
This accolade shows GYCs expertise in the Financial Advisory
field and demonstrates GYCs long-term commitment to its clients
in this capital intensive business.
Building a business is not all about systems and performance. We
